Blockchain Private Key Storage System for IoT device

  • Paper Title: Blockchain Private Key Storage System for IoT device
  • Journal Name: The Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Science
  • Abstract: Private keys are very important to blockchain users, as it verifies any transactions of one’s crypto account. Therefore, private keys are supposed to be secret and never shared with other users. However, private keys consist of a long string with a combination of numbers and letters, making it very hard to remember. This paper introduces a system to store private keys to hardware to address this issue. The implementation utilizes Arduino Nano 33 IoT as the hardware wallet and fingerprint to secure the private keys. Therefore, users can control and need not worry about memorizing their keys without using third-party key management applications. The private key also can be paired with more than one fingerprint, so it can be passed on to the owner’s heirs.
