Journal Name: IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Abstract: This paper introduces SimURLLC, a novel SimPy-based simulation framework designed to evaluate scheduling algorithms for 6G Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communication (URLLC). 6G URLLC demands stringent latency and reliability, necessitating efficient scheduling, particularly under diverse network conditions and with heterogeneous devices. SimURLLC models key 6G URLLC components and facilitates a comparative analysis of six scheduling algorithms across baseline, high-load, and mixed-priority scenarios. The results obtained from our simulation configuration reveal trade-offs between algorithms, with preemptive priority-based solutions demonstrating superior performance under the tested conditions. SimURLLC provides a valuable, modular tool for researchers and network engineers to analyze and optimize 6G URLLC scheduling strategies, fostering the development of robust and efficient next-generation wireless networks.
